Looking for a quick, tasty & nutritious dinner? Jazz up jarred marinara with vegetables & protein for an easy dinner. Add ground meat or keep this recipe vegetarian – either way is absolutely delicious. Serve with pasta, spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles.
1 jar of sauce (check the ingredients list for no added sugars)
1 lb ground meat (beef, chicken, turkey, sausage, etc.)
1 onion
2 cloves garlic
1 can tomatoes
1 lb mushrooms
1-2 bell peppers
1-2 grated carrots
fresh basil

Directions Brown meat in large pot with olive oil
Add onion, garlic, peppers, carrots and mushrooms. Sauté until vegetables are tender (5-10 minutes).
Add canned tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes
Stir in jar of sauce and bring to simmer.
Serve over your favorite pasta and top with fresh basil.
