Summer is upon us, and that means enjoying the longer days and nights, often with a fun beverage in hand. But cocktails (and mocktails) can derail your healthy eating and exercise efforts. We are sharing some of our favorite healthy cocktail and mocktail recipes to inspire you to make a healthier, refreshing summer drink.
Healthy Mocktails
A mocktail needs a fun glass! Make your drink in a wine glass, cocktail glass or mason jar.
Kombucha + ice
Favorite kombuchas:
- Healthade: pink lady apple, passion fruit tangerine, lemon ginger, tropical punch
- GTs: watermelon, strawberry, lemonade, ginger, gingerberry
Sparkling water + muddled aromatics + lots of ice
Favorite flavored sparkling waters:
- La Croix : lime, pamplemousse (grapefruit) key lime, cherry lime, limoncello, pasteque (watermelon)
- Waterloo : watermelon, coconut, strawberry
- Spindrift : pineapple, grapefruit, cucumber, strawberry
Favorite unflavored sparkling waters:
Favorite aromatics:
- Sliced citrus, cucumber, strawberries
- Ginger
- Basil, mint, rosemary
Healthy-ish Cocktails
Spicy Margarita
– 2 oz tequila
– .5 oz Cointreau or Grand Marnier
– 1 fresh squeezed lime
– 2-3 slices jalapeno
– 2 oz sparkling water (unflavored or lime)
Sangria
– 5oz red wine
– Splash of tropical Italian soda
– Lots of ice
– Garnish with fresh sliced orange or apples
Cucumber Paloma
– 2 oz tequila
– 1/2 fresh squeezed lime
– 1/4 Cup fresh grapefruit juice
– 3-4 slices cucumber
– 4 oz sparkling water (unflavored, grapefruit or cucumber)
Cherry Lime Basil Spritzer
– 2 oz vodka
– 4 fresh cherries, muddled
– 2 basil leafs, muddled
– 1/2 of a fresh lime, squeezed
– 4 oz sparkling water (lime or cherry lime)
Watermelon Refresher
– 2 oz vodka
– 1/2 Cup GTs watermelon wonder kombucha
– 1/4 Cup sparkling water (unflavored, watermelon, cucumber)
– 4 oz sparkling water (unflavored or watermelon)
