Q: Which Is Better? 6 Small Meals or 3 Large Meals?
A: If your goal is weight loss, either can work for you. In order to lose weight, you need to consume fewer calories than you burn. For some, consuming six small meals keeps hunger at bay and prevents overeating. For others though, six small meals are just six opportunities to overeat because they never feel fully satisfied with a smaller volume of food.
Experiment with both ways of eating to see what works best for you. Be mindful of your hunger throughout the day and your level of satisfaction after both smaller more frequent meals or larger meals spaced further apart. Remember, quality of those calories matter too so be sure to include whole foods from multiple food groups.
