In honor of The NBA Finals and the league MVP, Stephen Curry, here’s the low-down on curry along with some of our favorite curry dishes for you to enjoy.
Curry is actually a generic term for a blend of spices with the spices dependent on where you are in the world. Curry almost always contains turmeric though, which has some serious anti-inflammatory compounds. Turmeric has a bitter, peppery flavor and is regularly used in Eastern medicine as a healing remedy.
While Steph Curry wasn’t so hot in Game 2 or the start of Game 3, we tend to prefer things on the spicier side. To change the heat in any of these dishes, simply increase/decrease the amount of chili peppers.
1) Spicy Slow-Cooked Lamb Curry – Jamie Oliver’s “Rogan Josh” makes an amazingly hot curry.
2) Easy Coconut Curry – The Minimalist Baker serves up this vegan option in a well spiced coconut milk broth.
3) Chicken Curry – Jenn Segal created this flavorful dish to be ready for a family in 30 minutes or less.
4) Slow Cooker Thai Beef Curry – This authentic Thai curry from BBC Food is good enough for entertaining guests.
5) Healthy Chicken Quinoa Curry Bowls – Pinch of Yum outdid themselves again with a 315 calorie entree that’s done in a snap.
